You think your life is short? Try living in Rome. It was either; being a gladiator, getting food/drink poising, childbirth, wars, alcoholism… You get the drill. At the time they did not have proper medication or treatment so they would be bathed regularly and kept in clean clothes as they thought wearing clean clothes and keeping hygienic would fights the bacteria and diseases. They did however invade Greece which had proper medications and Rome eventually learnt. When someone passes they would bury them or burn the body it depended on the request of the person. The ashes of the deceased were placed in urns which would be given to the family of the dead. Which if you think about it, still hasn’t changed.
