Laws have been around since ancient times. They keep civilizations and cities running smoothly, without them it would be chaos. In ancient Rome they had something called the twelve tables which were a set of laws inscribed on 12 bronze tablets they were created in ancient Rome in 451 and 450 BCE. The list of laws seems to have covered most areas of private law and concentrated on relations between individuals.
